Shipping Your Automobile Overseas

Planning is critical to the success of any endeavor. And this is especially true in the world of international shipping, where even the slightest hiccup in logistics can cost a company millions of dollars. Whether you are full containers, automobiles or simply trying to get your products to new parts of the world, you need a logistics company that will manage every detail for you.

If you need to ship an automobile across the world, overseas, you need to contract with a logistics company that will plan not only the shipping and delivery, but the packaging and processing of your vehicle. You can ship just about any kind of vehicle, from cars, trucks, motorcycles SUVs, full size vans and minivans, even boats and ATVs. Limco offers drive-up-and-drive-off service, meaning that you just need to get your vehicle to the docks, and we will take care of the rest for your, from departure to arrival.

With any overseas shipping operation comes the task of deciding which shipping container is right for your delivery. Limco gives you the choice of what works best for your situation, and we will guide you through the entire process. Our shipping containers are completely safe for your vehicle. Your car, truck, van or motorcycle will be sealed securely in its own container. We will not share your container with any other clients. Once securely inside one of our shipping containers, your vehicle will not be seen by the light of day until it arrives at its destination, ready to be driven off by you or your proxy agent.

When shipping your vehicle, it is important that you possess clear and outright title to the car. If you do not have this, it will be all but impossible to ship your vehicle overseas. The original vehicle title must ship with the vehicle. It is handy to keep the title in the glove box, or in another safe place within the vehicle, prior to shipment. Also, be sure that there is less than a 1/8 tank full of gas. Any more than this, and your vehicle cannot be shipped, due to fire concerns.

Also, depending upon how you are shipping your vehicle, it may or may not need to be emptied of all personal affects. If you are shipping it in a shipping container, you may laden the car with other boxes and items. If you are taking advantage of our drive-on-and-drive-off service, the vehicle must be empty prior to shipment.
